I got word a little after I headed for Europe that the print edition of the summer solstice issue is now available on magcloud.com. You can get it at either of these links:

I'll be heading out after I grab some breakfast and wash the dishes. Hopefully, that won't take too long. I had to catch up with email and stuff, and I got up at 9:30 instead of 9 because I was awake too late last night. I've had some tea and am more or less functional now, though still a bit achey.

I'm looking forward to seeing my friends again. Wish me luck at the border. I hate crossing these days.

I'm up a bit earlier than anticipated. Checked the pass and chains are definitely still required, but I didn't see any notes about needing chains south of the Yreka area. Mt Shasta City was suggested for road food for folks with bizarre food allergies, so we might try there if we don't just grab something at a cafe here before we leave. I will need to go poke [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor in a few to make sure she's actually vertical.

In a few minutes I'm going to start hauling my stuff down to Garuda and check the chains to make sure everything is in order and that they haven't lost the clips that hold them together. I should probably consider getting cash for the road as well. Yelp reports a co-op cafe, but it's cash only and right now all I have are my cards.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement on the road. I'm not looking forward to the pass through the Siskiyous today. At least it's bright and sunny!

In a few minutes I'll be doing the last packout to Garuda for the trip to points south.

This morning in the email I got notice that my proposal for Ogam: From Medieval Manuscripts to Modern Magicians was accepted for the Esoteric Book Conference this fall here in Seattle. I'm very excited about this and will probably have more information for you when I get home. Their website still has the info for 2011 up, but watch the page for updates, as they wanted presenter info by the 20th for inclusion on the page.

To those of you traveling to PCon this weekend, find me! Say hi! I'll see you in San Jose.

Thank you to the folks who have sent good wishes for travel. They are greatly appreciated. I'll check in tonight from Ashland.

I have not yet been to bed. This is not a happy-making thing.

The sib headed for Olympia to boat-and-dog sit yesterday afternoon. He'll be back sometime Saturday or Sunday. I'm going to try to get some vague bit of sleep and then, if I have a brain at all, I'll try to get Garuda smogged. I'm supposed to head over to AFK tonight around 6-ish to hang with some friends. We'll see what happens.

Dishes were done. A wee bit of writing was accomplished. I read webcomics for ludicrous numbers of hours (which is connected to the not having been to bed yet thing).

Fried!Erynn should really just stfu and go to bed, I think.

Being still awake at 6:04 AM is very bad. I will not be going to the shrine today. It would be best if I don't drive like this. Insomnigrackles eat my head. We hates them we does my preciousss.

I'll still be up for tea and dinner with [livejournal.com profile] perclexed though, so no worries there.

And yes, we're heading out shortly. Bags are packed. Tea is being had. I'm blogging this.

We're hoping to be in Idaho Falls tonight. There might be some touristy stoppage along the way. Trailer got packed yesterday. All that's left is to get our patoots on the road.

To my compadres who will be at BM, see you soon!
