I'm feeling kind of awesome and kind of sniffly. My friend [livejournal.com profile] fififolle, whom I met this summer, said that I was one of the highlights of her year:

I had rather an up and down year writing-wise, but a highlight of my year was meeting in person the lovely erynn999, someone who inspired my writing in early days, showed me what good slash is, and continues to do so. Thank you, sweetie, for coming to visit me!

I'm so touched, Fi - you are amazing and wonderful and always welcome under my roof anytime you are in the same hemisphere.

I went to the Post-Apocalypse steampunk tea at Kier's place over in Greenwood for a couple of hours and had a lovely time. I played Martial Fluxx with friends, shared info about the Sherlock Seattle party on January 6th with one of my friends, and learned that there is an Abney Park and Steam Powered Giraffe show in Everett in April that I want to go to, since it's about 15 minutes from my place.

When I got home, I ended up writing a 3,300 word outline for a fic I want to do later this year when I've got the article on ogam finished and a good start on the Brigid book. Geordie says that he'd be interested in doing a panel on esoteric poetry at the Esoteric Book Conference in September, and put him in touch with [livejournal.com profile] alfrecht, who wants to propose one with us and Ruby Sara, who edited the Datura and Mandragora anthologies.

Now my left hand ring finger is all numb and hurting. I'm going to have to lay off the keyboard for a couple of days and to pay my bills tomorrow.

Tired Erynn will now crawl off and go to bed.

I went down to Seattle this evening with [livejournal.com profile] ogam and [livejournal.com profile] alfrecht. We had some dinner at Cedars down in the U District then picked up [livejournal.com profile] neo_lvx and all went over to some friends' for a ritual and hanging out with people. I had a great time catching up with folks.

There had been some confusion about the showing of The Hobbit on the 25th. At first, rumor was that the 3pm showing would be a 3D showing and that they were not having the regular showing, but the cinema confirmed that they are, indeed, having the regular showing, and that it is the $5 Tuesday afternoon special, so I picked up tickets for me and [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor. I think some of the steampunks will be going to the 11:30am showing, but there is no way I would be going to something that early unless it was some kind of unavoidable responsibility, which is in no way how I would describe any movie. A bunch of the other steampunks (and some of our other friends) will be joining us at the 3pm showing. I bought the tickets online so that we would be sure of getting in, as I think Cinebarre is a small theatre.

I agreed to help out at another thing at PCon, so I will be posting my expected schedule of events in January. If you're interested in getting together with me there, you'll be able to find me where I'm scheduled to be.

Tomorrow I think I don't have anything going on, so I will probably sleep in. At least there was no evil headache today. Yay! Next up, more food.

So this evening [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor and I went to the local steampunks' end of the world masquerade ball. The group is planning a series of parties this year on the upcoming SteamCon V theme, Around the World in 80 Days, so we were encouraged to costume appropriately. Beneath the cut are photos of me and [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor at the party!

Come the apocalypse, we'll have to travel light! )

Today I went down to the VA for the spirituality group. Next week is the last one until probably mid-January. I'd taken a copy of my poetry book to show off at the queer Pagan meetup but one of the gals in the group had asked a few weeks back about buying a copy, so I sold it to her, since I have ten more coming any day now.

After the VA, I spent a little time at Travelers grabbing some dinner (late lunch, for me), then went up to the Hill for the queer Pagan meetup. It was a pretty good crowd, about fifteen people, about five of whom were new. There were some good conversations. I caught up with several people I hadn't seen since before I left for Ireland. I talked to Craigula about Gargoyles and showing some photos that I took in Prague and Kutná Hora and he was really excited by the idea.

Moss won't be able to join us Sunday for Sigilaria, as he will be in Florida. Tomorrow the Air Krakens ring in the zombie apocalypse with our masquerade ball out in Snohomish. It should be fun, if the headache I currently have doesn't stick with me through the night.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (tea addict)
This evening I finally got out to Otherworlds, the steampunk shop in Edmonds. I went with [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor for steampunks dancing, and we did mostly waltz type things and some English country dancing. I was a little dizzy by the time I sat down, and the hips and knees didn't hold out for more than an hour or so, but I think I did okay. The proprietors are tea geeks like me, and she is into teaware and we geeked about ceramics and teas for a little bit after the dancing. I got a teacup and saucer much like the ones I inherited from my father's mom. She's apparently having a hard time selling the antique Japanese ones (Merit, Trimont, etc) because people believe that the glazes or paints are lead-based. Considering that I mostly just display the old ones, it's not that much of an issue for me.

Tomorrow evening I'll be picking up [livejournal.com profile] ogam at the train station downtown in Seattle. I think I'm shipping him over to [livejournal.com profile] ingvisson's place after that.

And, under the cut, Mom with Santa! )
erynn: Gaelic merman image (Magical Sigils)
This afternoon [livejournal.com profile] druid_medb and I headed down to the VA for group. She waited for me and then we went over to Travelers for some dinner and up to the Hill so that I could take her by Edge and Elliott Bay Books. I dropped her at her hotel down in Pioneer Square in the evening and then headed home. She'll be able to walk to the train station tomorrow morning at OhGod:30. We had a pretty great time and did a lot of work on our presentation. We've got enough stuff together to pretty much take it from the outline we have now, but we can also do some polishing and additional work via email, so we're good on that. I need to remember to scan a couple of things and email them to her.

When I got home, I talked with [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor, who is almost ready to upload the sound files for Circle of Stones. She's working out a few final graphics issues and, with luck, the file will be available (she said $5 but I want to check in with her one final time before I announce that for sure) tomorrow on BandCamp.

I checked a bunch of tickyboxes for Norwescon's panels this evening. We're required to pick 10 or more so that they have an ample field to choose from. I ticked 10 boxes and reiterated my time restriction (nothing before 2pm if possible), so that should be good. Mostly fanfic panels, a couple of writing/publishing panels, a couple of poetry panels. I figure I'll get a few of them and it should be fun.

At the moment, my upcoming schedule is kind of spotty, but I have the following things on it, at least tentatively:

Amanda's Birthday: December 9th
Medieval Women's Choir: December 15th
TENTATIVE: [livejournal.com profile] mael_brigde: between December 17th-19th
I believe [livejournal.com profile] ogam gets here December 18th
Queer Pagan Meetup: December 20th
Air Krakens End of the World Masquerade: December 21st
Sigillaria: December 23rd
The Hobbit with Steampunks: December 25th
[livejournal.com profile] nathan_fhtagn and [livejournal.com profile] meddevi at the Can Can: December 30th
Shinto New Year: January 1st
Air Krakens Post-Apocalypse Tea: January 1st
Sound of the Baskervilles' Holmes birthday party: January 5th
Seattle Sherlock fandom's Holmes party: January 6th
Abney Park show: January 19th
Bad Movie Night: January 20th

I'm also looking at planning a bad movie party with some of my friends in January.

If I've said I would do something with you and it's not on this, please let me know. My memory is like a steel sieve.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (GONZO!)
Today we worked on our presentation on spirit work and PTSD. We've got some good outline material together, and have sorted out some of our sources. [livejournal.com profile] druid_medb and I are definitely on the same page for most of it, and where we do disagree, it's very minor. We'll do some more work tomorrow after we've talked more about some of the material we want to cover.

This morning's email brought a note from RedBubble saying that the iPad cover was actually for an iPad 2, which is very slightly smaller than the iPad 1, and I'd forgotten that I had the first iteration of the thing. I got it just before the 2 came out. Anyway, they sent me a refund and said go ahead and keep it - give it to somebody, hang it up as art, whatever. So, does anyone have an iPad 2 and want a really cool hard case for the back that says "Get Fucking Epic and Do Shit"? We can work a deal, if you like. Let me know.

This evening we went and hung out with the steampunks over in Lake Stevens. The place we were in closed at 8pm so it wasn't open as late as we had expected. This is likely to become an issue. We went in on our scouting trip for the place on a Thursday, and their hours are different that night. Anyway, after that, I took [livejournal.com profile] druid_medb over to the AFK and introduced her to the awesome that is my local gamer geek tavern. She was suitably impressed. Upon arrival home, we watched Steamboy and had a lot of fun with that.

Tomorrow will be more work on our presentation, as noted above. Thursday is the VA, and she will be staying Thursday night in downtown Seattle in walking distance of the train station, as the train leaves before 9am, and getting her there through rush hour traffic would mean an unseasonably early departure time from Everett. She's good with that and has made her reservation at an inexpensive place in Pioneer Square. We'll head over to the VA for my appointment, then spend the afternoon/evening down in Seattle before I drop her down in Pioneer Square for the night.

All is well. Happiness abounds.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (Book of Dreams)
Today was shrinkage, and I talked a lot about some things that had been on my mind - my book, politics, aging, life, travel and its aftermath, writing. I felt pretty good coming out of it and am glad to have that time once a month. I really do feel like it helps with stuff. While I was in the waiting room before my appointment, I saw one of the gals from tomorrow's group and she asked if I had any more copies of my book; at that point I didn't but I said I'd bring a few along as soon as I got them again. Quite a few of the women there have bought them from me - one woman liked it enough that she bought a second copy for one of her friends, which was very flattering.

At Travelers, I ran into a gal I'd met this spring, when my friend Geordie was doing a weekend workshop at her place. We talked briefly about him, and I mentioned my poetry book. We ended up talking about abebooks.com as an alternative to Amazon for things. I was surprised that she had not only remembered me, but my name, as I have trouble remembering people's names unless I see them several times.

Upon my arrival home, I got the box of poetry books I'd been expecting. I've stuck one in my bragging pile on my desk and am going to leave it there so that I don't end up without one. I do need to keep one copy for myself, after all!

Tomorrow evening is a steampunk meetup with some of the Everett crew in Lake Stevens. On Friday is the Sherlock Seattle con afterparty, and I'll be picking up a few folks locally who don't have their own transportation so that they can get to the AFK.

I think, at the moment, my weekend is reasonably clear. I've been working on my fic off and on this evening since I got home. While I do need to get up tomorrow, I'm not tired enough to go to bed yet, so I'll probably work some more on it before I crash.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (two ravens)
No, it wasn't the box of poetry books I was expecting. It was this:

Suibhne Geilt by Michael Quirke

This is the Suibhne Geilt carving I've been waiting for from Michael Quirke in Ireland. I knew it had been shipped out a week or two back, but I wasn't certain how long it would take to arrive. That was the package I'd missed on Saturday while I was out at the veterans day parade, which seems rather fitting, all things considered.

Also in the mail I got Sherlock: The Casebook from the UK, which is a hilarious combination of diary/scrapbook of John Watson, with inserted annotations by Sherlock and Mycroft (and responses from John) via sticky notes, and talk about the behind the scenes stuff and various Sherlockiana. I'd had a chance to look at it very briefly during the Sherlock con a couple of weeks ago, but this is a treat. This kind of thing is one of the reasons I love fandom so much. People with weird senses of humor, and nerdcraft. I'm about halfway through it and will probably finish it up sometime tomorrow.

I did a little more writing today, but not a lot. Current word count is 13,157 but I may add a little more before I go to bed. Tomorrow is my monthly shrinkage, Thursday is group, then some of the Krakens are getting together at a new place in Lake Stevens to check that out. Friday is the Sherlock Seattle afterparty at the AFK. Busy week!
erynn: Gaelic merman image (Feminist dialectic brings 'em)
After starting the day with a mild headache, things got rather a bit better. I was feeling fairly anxious over the elections, but I do that every time we have one. National elections tend to be much more stressful than local ones, but this one turned out reasonably well as these things go, at least in my opinion.

There's still a lot to be concerned about - drone strikes, privacy issues, indefinite detention, trans* rights, bringing people home from Afghanistan, among others. Yet we still have a president who is mostly in favor of civil rights, marriage equality has made some headway, and the right of adults over 21 to use marijuana if they wish to has apparently been passed. I'm not going to have to worry quite so much about the viciously anti-woman Republican agenda taking away the rights I've had for most of my life. Some measures apparently passed that I'm not thrilled with, but I wasn't expecting as much good news as I did get, so I'll suck it up and deal, as always.

This evening I'd been planning to go over to Picadilly Circus and hang out with the steampunks, saving any potential panic attacks for after I got home. About 8:30 local time, the presidential race was called for Obama, which meant I could defer the panic attack on that issue for another four years. I hung out with my steampunk friends for a couple of hours, then briefly visited with [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor for a little while when I got home.

Due to the headache and not feeling that great when I got up, I deferred getting my hair cut. I'm hoping that I'll manage it tomorrow. It really is getting unpleasantly unruly. It's definitely getting into my eyes.

Mom called today and we spoke briefly. My brother and my friend in England both received their copies of Fireflies. So far, everyone seems to like it. This pleases me.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (ow. Robertson Davies)
Woke up today headachey and wasn't sure how well I would fare. I stayed home until about 8:30, then went over to the AFK to say happy birthdayversary to the owners and staff. They were doing some small prize giveaways and I got a cute cobalt blue AFK Tavern shotglass out of the deal. At the moment my right shoulder is aching pretty badly and my tum is upset. Tomorrow I desperately need to get a haircut if I can get my arse out of the house in time to have it done before I need to go over to Snohomish for the first Tuesday steampunk social at Picadilly Circus.

Mom sent me a note that she really liked the poetry book, yay!

Still tired, but I had a nice day.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (Northwest forest)
"Last night" I didn't really succeed in getting anywhere near sleep until about 7:30 this morning. I woke around 1pm, I think. Mostly still tired, but I finished up the dishes and dealt with the chicken bones from the two I roasted for the ritual. They were turned into broth and blue corn was added so I'm making some soup of it all now. I responded at length to an email from a friend in Edmonton.

Aside from that, all I did was go for a walk around the lake with [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor this evening as it was getting dark. I've seen some photos from NYC and the surrounding area that looks just appalling and am hoping that injuries and damage will be as minimal as possible. To my friends back east, I hope you're as safe and well as you can be under the circumstances.

I pretty desperately need to get a haircut here soon. I'll probably do it just after the beginning of the month. It's really getting in my eyes and bothering me. When it's this length it gets really wavy and just goes all over the place; it's not actually straight at all. This means that it looks pretty stupid, sadly.

Tomorrow I'll probably see [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor again for a bit, then in the evening head over to the AFK for the usual Tuesday steampunk social. No idea if anyone will show, given that SteamCon was this past weekend and probably most of the locals are fried as post-con toast.

Beyond that, I'll try and get an expanded outline started for the ogam article for Abraxas and maybe try to work on some fic.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (totem seadragon)
Today was group at the VA. I took three copies of my poetry book in, and all three of them sold. Several of the other members want one, so I'll bring a few more next week. I think I will need to order some new ones next month. I also gave a copy to Leon and Allen over at Travelers when I stopped in today for dinner after my appointment. I have to remember to call VA dental tomorrow to schedule a replacement for one of my fillings. No fun.

Tomorrow I also have to go to the postal place and mail out a stack of books to people. And write the Samhain ritual. And then friends asked if I wanted to play Cthulhu Munchkin at the AFK tomorrow night, which I very likely will.

I have a tentative menu for Samhain dinner on Sunday. I haven't heard anything from Qi about the Krakens party at SteamCon this weekend, which means I most likely won't be going. There was a chance I'd be going just to hang out at the room party without attending the con, but it seems unlikely at this point.

My new MS Office 2011 arrived today and I installed it before I headed down to Seattle. It'll take a little getting used to, but it has a distraction-free mode where it blanks out the rest of the desktop while you're writing, so perhaps that'll be useful and I can get to work on the ogam in magic article for Abraxas sometime soon.

Got email from [livejournal.com profile] druid_medb about our proposed session at PantheaCon, and she wants to come up for a visit to talk about it and plan things out. I told her what my current schedule looks like, so she can suggest a timeframe for her visit. It'll be fantastic to see her again.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (asclepius rod)
I have successfully done battle with my GP at the VA hospital. I'm having a small prescription of tylenol with codeine sent to me for use when I have hideous migraines or cramps from waist to toes.

I talked with the doc about the whole lack of sleep thing, and everything she suggested is something I've done before, therefore no action. She noted my blood pressure was a bit high and I explained the whole "just drove 45 minutes to get here through Seattle traffic" thing. She gave me a blood pressure machine so that I can monitor it here for a few months at home, and I'm absolutely certain it will be damned near normal here where I'm not dealing with stressy driving and dashing from one end of the hospital to the other for appointments. At least if that's the case, they won't be on me about trying to lower it with medications or anything because I just plain don't need it.

Upon my return home, I headed out to the AFK for a little food and drink with one of the steampunk crew. Everyone's going to the con this weekend, but he and I had a talk about writing, publishing, and politics for about 90 minutes, so that was pretty good. I told him about Readerware for cataloging his books, which he's finally got all in one place again after some years, and he said he'd have a look at it. He'd been considering joining Librarything, but wasn't too keen on having his whole collection online. I can't say as I blame him.

When I noted yesterday that I'd been told to get an electric toothbrush, several folks said "oh yeah, Sonicare. That happens to be the brand the dental tech gave me the coupon for. Any suggestions on where I might get the best price at an actual store? I don't want to order one online. I'm not keen to spend more than $100, so low-end is best. I was doing some looking around online last night and I couldn't tell what would actually be available locally at the shops. (Have I mentioned I hate shopping?)

Sleep. I am going to try to get some tonight. Tomorrow have a friend coming by in the evening, so I may actually be able to sleep in a bit instead of having to set an alarm. That would be nice.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (writy pooped)
My reminder woke me up at 2 about the appointment I'd cancelled. I still need to reschedule the orthotics fitting appointment. I'll do it when I have braincells.

Last night I ended up finally cutting the silver ring off my finger because it had been causing some nerve impingement for quite some time, making the fibro/tendonitis in my right hand worse. I wasn't thrilled, but I couldn't get the ring off otherwise. There will likely be a dent in my finger for a few weeks until things repair themselves.

I was hoping to get a little done on the upcoming Samhain ritual, but just didn't have the wherewithal. I didn't go to bed this morning until nearly 8:30. I didn't get out this evening to the AFK because I was just too tired. The day was largely taken up with doing some dishes and spudifying in front of the computer reading fanfic, because I couldn't find the brain cells to do anything else.

Tomorrow Qi from the steampunk group is coming by for tea and to see some of my photos from Europe. [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor informs me that she's done some recording of the Gaelic prayers from Circle of Stones and hopes to do some more tomorrow evening at some point. As soon as the sound files are available, I'll let people know. C in Arizona updated my Preserving Shrine website yesterday with info about Fireflies at Absolute Zero so, for the moment, it's got everything up to date. I'll update again when the sound files are available.

My arms hurt. I need to work on the Samhain ritual. I got a nice, supportive note from one of the folks from the schmooze about my departure. This pleased me. We'll probably get together at Travelers from time to time after my VA appointments - we used to see one another at the CapHill Travelers when it was still open.

I'm very tired. Off to bed. I may read a little bit before I sleep, but it's definitely time to crawl off between the sheets.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (writy typewriter)
Despite a mild migraine, I managed to finish up the piece for Hiraeth that I'd been given an extension on. It was just over a page, and I hope it was suitable. I've just sent it off to Leslie, as it was due Wednesday (today), and it should be in her inbox when she gets up in the morning.

The gal who was coming over for tea this afternoon cancelled due to a daughter who was too sick to go to school. Certainly a reasonable request. When my alarm went off at noon, I found her text on my phone, answered briefly, then went back to sleep(ish) until I was yanked out of bed by a tetchy smoke alarm that wanted to be fed a new battery. Getting that done took the better part of twenty minutes, purely by dint of the damned thing being a bitch to open so that I could replace the battery. By that time, going back to bed wasn't really an option, so I just grabbed a shower and started my day.

This evening I went for about an hour over to Picadilly Circus to talk with the steampunks and grab a small bit of dinner. I'd considered just not going, but I had to talk with one of the people there and make a few plans for next week. It was good to catch up with a few of the folks I hadn't seen in several months, though, so I'm glad I went even though I felt pretty crappy.

When I got home I finally got around to dealing with the writing deadline. I probably wrote at least five pages worth of stuff and deleted and re-wrote and deleted and started over until I had that page and a few. At the moment, I've got some chicken-lentil curry soup going on the stove.

Tomorrow I have shrinkage. Sadly [livejournal.com profile] varina8 had to cancel on meeting me at Travelers, but I'll probably stop there tomorrow anyway and try to do a little work on turning my Esoteric Book Conference presentation into an article. I at least have the outline that I spoke from as a place to start. This will be a job for the iPad, no doubt. I'm still not sure how I'll handle the graphics end of things for them, but I can consult with them about it. I'm just hoping that the migraine won't get worse overnight so that I have to cancel on my appointment. There's been a lot on my mind and I really need to have a little time to work on it.

Given that I had tea rather than cider this evening at the pub, I'm still kind of too wired to try going to bed as yet, but I'll do my best to get to sleep at something resembling a reasonable hour.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (d'oh!)
The tea I thought was happening today is actually set for tomorrow. I set my alarm for noon when I didn't have to and texted the person about 1:20 only to be reminded it was Tuesday. That dealt with, I went over to [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor's place, where I hung out with her and [livejournal.com profile] ingvisson and put together most of a computer armoire. When we broke to take the DoDC+3 to the vet, [livejournal.com profile] ingvisson headed home. The DoDC+3 behaved more or less well enough until we got to the nail trimming portion of the experience. He got really frantic and bitey, so we left the shortest of his claws alone (only one) and scheduled a dental for him next month. I've never taken him in for any dental work and it looks like he may lose the two front lower teeth because they're very loose. His claws will get trimmed to a normal length while he's under for the dental work.

Upon finishing up the canine torture, I dropped him home, grabbed something quick to eat, and went back over to [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor's place to finish up the furniture assembly. Upon finishing that up, one of her cats came up and I petted it, only to find it was having... intestinal issues. I will just say that there is no greater love anyone can have for their girlfriend than helping her clean up her poop-encrusted cat. *shudder*

Home again after that, but too tired to finish up the writing I was going to do today. Tomorrow, tea for an hour or so, then steampunkery in the evening, but I'll try to finish up the publicity piece between tea and steam.

All in all, a very tiring day.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (tea club!)
This morning [livejournal.com profile] alfrecht, [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor, and I went out to the Shinto shrine for the fall ceremony. It was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so, and [livejournal.com profile] tedgill and [livejournal.com profile] brandywilliams were both there, so we got a little bit of a chance to catch up with them.

[livejournal.com profile] alfrecht's mom picked him up from the shrine and [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor was too tired to come down to Seattle with me later during the day for the tea and conversation. (BTW, [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor and [livejournal.com profile] thewronghands, you should follow one another and maybe we'll have an easier time getting you two in the same place at the same time!)

I stayed for the tea for a couple of hours, then hauled [livejournal.com profile] wire_mother out for some dinner and then off to chat at Cafe Vita for a while. We spent about two hours together catching up and talking about a lot of things. I was able to make a pretty large decision over the course of our conversation, I just have to figure out how to articulate it soon.

Tomorrow I'm having tea at 1 with a friend, then taking the DoDC+3 to the vet in the late afternoon. I haven't had him in to see one since he nearly got himself killed a couple of years back so he is vastly overdue for his vaccinations.

Got word from Jason today that the poetry book was sent off to the printer and he'll check over the proof copy and then approve it for publication. I'm sitting here looking at a stack of things that I need to write, one of which is for the Hiraeth website as publicity for the book. I have to put together a little bit for [livejournal.com profile] mael_brigde for the DoF newsletter. I have to put together an article from the ogam and magic talk I gave at the Esoteric Book Conference and submit it to Abraxas, then I need to get to work on the Brigid book. I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting, but it still feels pretty overwhelming. I need to finish up the Hiraeth project Tuesday so it'll be with them on Wednesday for publication. Tomorrow I probably won't have a lot of time for it, but Tuesday I should before I have to head out for the steampunk social.

If I'm missing something I've promised to do, please do let me know. My brain is utterly sieve-like right now.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (Brigid Poet)
Email today brought the full cover draft and a PDF edit of Fireflies. I offered a couple of comments on the cover and the last couple of comments and corrections on the text. It may be off to the printer as soon as this Sunday. I was given an extension until next Wednesday for the written bit for the Hiraeth website, though, which was helpful.

I did manage to get some sleep last night. I'm not exactly at the top of my game, but at least I'm doing a little better now. I may wander over to the 24 hour grocery in a little bit, as I'd like to pick up some salad dressing for the salad I have, though I'm not sure just yet if I'm up to that. I also have to do some dishes. One load of laundry has run through the wash and needs to go into the dryer.

My body is not cooperating with me. Evil hormonal things are happening and I am pissed off. Damned menopause should just meno-fucking-stop already. We hates it we does my precioussss.

This evening I went with several of the local steampunks over to Snohomish to check out the Picadilly Circus pub. It seems to suit our needs quite admirably. We'll probably meet there next Tuesday to check it out on a night when we'd normally be there, as each night in any given place tends to have a little different feel to it. Overall we did give it a two thumbs up, so we will probably meet there first Tuesday of each month, then the rest of the month will still be at the AFK, given that I'm often the only one there on other Tuesday nights.

And now, off to deal with dishes and put some dinner on. Ate at the Picadilly but that was my first meal of the day. I really need a little something more.
erynn: Gaelic merman image (writy pooped)
No sleep last night at all. I tried going to bed and couldn't even close my eyes. Got up at about 11:30am or so and went out to run some errands, picking up a few things I needed and doing a load of laundry. [livejournal.com profile] gra_is_stor came over briefly and we talked for a few; I managed to get a couple of paragraphs done on the piece I need to finish tomorrow for Hiraeth. Bills got paid, as well. I keep thinking I must be missing something, but I'm not sure what it is.

Tomorrow evening I'll be heading over to Snohomish with a couple of the Everett steampunks to check out a new venue. It's an English pub called Picadilly Circus, apparently run by an English immigrant and his wife. Qi went over this past week and spoke with them about the group and they do have a back room where it will probably be quieter than the main room. They do serve food, though mostly pub grub. We'll see what the menu looks like when we get there.

Lately my stomach has been giving me a lot of trouble again and eating has been kind of painful. Probably as much stress as anything else. I've been trying to keep eating enough to go on without murdering my digestive tract. It's nasty but it's been this way before. I've added back the evening pill for that instead of just taking one in the morning and I'll see if that can help some.

I'm hoping very much that having been awake for about 32 hours or so, I'll actually be able to get some sleep tonight when I crawl off to bed here in a little bit. Got to have enough brain cells to bang together tomorrow to actually finish up the page or so I'm supposed to send in to Leslie.
