I stopped right on time at abouto 2pm at [livejournal.com profile] martianmooncrab's place, where we went for lunch at Cypress. Lovely lamb kebabs and middle eastern appetizers. She showed me around the garden and handed me a bunch of strawberries and snap peas and a few red and black raspberries for the road, which were very very yummy. I got back on the road about 3pm or so and arrived in Ashland at just after 8pm. I was in time to walk down to the Thai place about a block and a half away, where I had a very tasty dinner and then wandered back to the hostel.

I'm tired after a day on the road. Checkout is tomorrow at 10am, and my next stop will be Sacramento with [livejournal.com profile] blindwebster. There are only four people at the hostel tonight, all of us female, two deaf women and another, younger gal who is (like me) deeply engrossed in her computer. I'll be curling up in a cozy chair with a book in just a little bit, then bed early so that I can hit the road on time in the morning. I didn't sleep well last night, but I never do before I travel, so it was only to be expected. I've got a lovely knot in my right shoulder and will try taking something a little stronger than tylenol to try to resolve it before I have to drive tomorrow.

And now, curling up with a book.

Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes! I really appreciate them.
